The Piggyback Plant (Tolmiea menziesii), also known as Youth-on-Age or Thousand Mothers, is a unique evergreen perennial native to the Pacific Northwest. This charming plant gets its playful name from its unusual growth habit, with tiny new plantlets sprouting directly from the point where the leaf stem meets the leaf blade, creating the delightful appearance of little plants riding piggyback on their parent leaves. With its lush green foliage and fascinating natural character, it makes a distinctive addition to houseplant collections, woodland-inspired spaces, or shaded gardens.
